The Red Bicycle.

I honestly can't even tell you how much food I ate over the weekend. It's sickening. Since Thursday night, I've literally eaten every single meal out -- AND local. I'm pretty proud of that last statement actually. Let me tell you though, doing a juice cleanse the week before you have company come for the weekend is a bad idea :) I do feel like it completely negated the fact that I did one and should probably do another one this week! haha I've decided to do my weekend food wrap up though in several parts so that everyone gets there full fill!

I had the pleasure of eating at The Red Bicycle last weekend, but probably didn't have the best dining experience that made me want to come home and blog about it. Don't get me wrong -- the food was amazing, atmosphere was great, staff was super friendly -- but I had a terrible two joining me and the beau and all she wanted to squawk about the whole time was "fries" and that is one thing that the TRB just doesn't have on their menu. So instead of going back on a slammed Sunday with limited seating and tons of people, we opted for a quiet Friday morning and had a much more enjoyable time. Even though they didn't have "fries".

The vibe in this place is great -- super colorful and mish moshed. Lots of
seating both indoors and outside. Love the guitar that stretches from one
end of the place to the other.
Impossible to get a good shot of the board that's readable. (click to see it
larger) They have three categories: breakfast, savory and sweet. And
even a 'build your own' option that you could try if you're a regular and
have already been thru the entire menu once or twice!
This is the drink/coffee menu. If you wanna see something really unique,
ask them for a 'pour over' one. It was fun for me at least :)

(L to R) Savory Field of Greens -- Savory Mexicrepe -- one of the
breakfast ones (?) -- and then Sweet Banana Peanut. The bottom two
were from our first visit last weekend. The sweet one was definitely
a sugar shock first thing in the morning for me. Friday, I had a Savory
Spinach one (not pictured) and it was amazing -- Chicken, spinach,
mushrooms, cheese and balsamic.

Thought this was kind of fun! #theredbicycle

What kinda crepe fan are you -- sweet, savory or breakfast?

Body = A Canvas.

So as I'm going thru my busy week, I find sometimes it's hard to make good eating choices. They call it 'fast food' for a reason. Have you ever stopped and realized that fruit is the original fast food? I hear it said all the time and it never really occurred to me until I was running out the door this morning and grabbed a banana on the go because it was quicker than anything else I could've made for breakfast! Yeah fruit!! A lot of us struggle with day to day body issues: bloat, acne, hives, dry skin/hair, weak nails, swelling, etc. And that's just the outward appearance. Do you realize that all of that can be fixed with our diets? What goes in, must come out people! Garbage in -- garbage out! (And that's not just our food/diet, but also our lifestyle and our minds) I encourage each and every one of you to really think about what you're doing to your body every time you sit down for a meal or something on the go. Might force you to make healthier decisions!

What are you putting in your bodies lately -- good or bad?!

His and Hers.

So Jason and I eat very differently most of the time -- he loves meat, I prefer veggies. He could literally eat raw beef every night, I prefer medium well if I eat it. He's a potato kinda guy, I'd love some steamed broccoli. Same routine for almost every meal -- makes it hard to stick to a healthy diet. But sometimes you just have to do it even though it's not easy! Here's a shot of our His and Hers breakfast :) Have a good weekend guys!

Pasture Raised Eggs with Thrive Bacon TVP and Thrive Chili Peppers
Juice: Spinach, Orange, Apples, Carrots, Lemons, Pineapple, Pears

How does your family's eating habits differ from ours? More in sync? More extreme?

Breakfast.

So everyone knows how important breakfast is, right? Well, I am the WORST at eating breakfast. I guess it's mostly for two reasons -- (1) I never have 'time' to eat breakfast and (2) I don't tend to like 'breakfast' type foods. I've decided that both of these excuses are invalid and I'm trying to reprogram my way of thinking. If you don't make 'time' for something, than yes, you won't have time for it. But everyone needs to make time for their health before it decides to take 'time' for us when we least expect it. And my problem of not liking breakfast type foods is because the foods that I don't care for aren't the ones I should be eating for breakfast anyways -- ie fast foods, etc. Here's some quick Instagram Inspiration from someone that I follow and just absolutely wish that I could have breakfast at their house every morning :) Then I'd definitely never skip another one again! @eathealthyworkhard

What are some of your favorite healthy breakfast choices?

Amazingly Talented.

So I've been following @conocana for quite some time on Instagram and continue to be amazed at what she eats for breakfast every morning. Correction. It's not WHAT she eats for breakfast, it's how she prepares it that makes me feel like it shouldn't be eaten, but preserved for mankind to look at in some art gallery somewhere! Super talented! I hope you enjoy looking at this little sampling of some of her pictures as much as I do! And trust me, it was difficult to narrow these down from all she has posted!

So what'd you think? Know anyone who has any hidden talents like this?

Breakfast of Champs.

So the scale doesn't lie -- and currently we're friends. After the juice/eating fast, I compromised my eating a little on the weekends and saw myself get back up to 132ish -- so I decided to buckle down again, it wasn't worth it to eat that way if it made me feel bad about myself.

Scale: 129.9!

Breakfast: Super yummy and colorful this morning! 1 mini Bok Choy, 2 GS Apples, 1 Pear, 1 Lemon, 1 Orange, 6 Carrots, 1 piece Celery, chunk of Red Cabbage. Great spice and a came out a pretty reddish/purple color.

I'm looking forward to trying to make the East Nashville Farmer's Market today from 3:30-6:30.
